Lynn
M. Brimer Elected to Executive Board of the Federal Bar Association,
Eastern District of Michigan
Southfield,
MI (July 23, 2001) Lynn M. Brimer, a principal
of the Southfield law firm Raymond & Prokop, P.C., was recently
elected to a three-year term on the executive board of the Federal
Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan. She also serves
as co-chair of the membership committee.
Ms. Brimers
practice includes tax, creditors rights, insolvency and
bankruptcy. Prior to joining Raymond & Prokop, P.C., in 1999,
she practiced 10 years with the Office of Chief Counsel for the
Internal Revenue Service. While serving with the Office of Chief
Counsel, Ms. Brimer was appointed as a Special Assistant United
States Attorney. She represented the Internal Revenue Service
in all aspects of Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings.
In addition
to her affiliation with the Federal Bar Association, Ms. Brimer
is a member of the Business Law, Tax Law and Litigation Sections
of the State Bar of Michigan and the Commercial Law League of
America. She previously sat on the Advisory Committee of the Eastern
District of Michigan Bankruptcy Court and served on the Local
Rules Committee that drafted the current Local Rules of the Bankruptcy
Court.
Ms. Brimer
has written and spoken extensively on her areas of expertise for
the Federal Bar Association, the Oakland County Bar Association,
and the Michigan Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
Ms. Brimer
currently sits on the board of directors of ACCESS, the Dearborn-based
Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services. She serves
as the chairperson of the development committee.
Ms. Brimer
earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts from the University of
Michigan and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University of Chicago,
School of Law. She is admitted to practice in both Michigan and
Illinois.
She is
a resident of Troy.
