Schwartz to Speak at Geriatrics 02 Conference
Southfield, MI (April
8, 2002) Robert H. Schwartz, managing partner and CEO of the Southfield-based
law firm of Raymond & Prokop, P.C., has been invited to speak
at the Geriatrics 02 Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada from
May 14 16, 2002.
Geriatrics 02 is sponsored by
the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP) and is designed
for pharmacists and other health care professionals who provide
pharmaceutical services to the elderly.
Mr. Schwartz will join S. Leigh Davitian,
JD, ASCPs director of government affairs, to address several
issues related to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability
Act (HIPAA). Their discussion will include the impact of privacy
regulations on senior care pharmacists, the status of changes
to make regulations less burdensome for pharmacy and an update
on the logistics of transactions standards impacting pharmacy.
Mr. Schwartz practice includes
corporate and commercial law, health care, and international business
and trade.
He is a frequent speaker on legal topics
related to health care and has also published a number of articles
for various publications on HIPAA privacy regulations.
Mr. Schwartz received his Bachelor
of Arts and Juris Doctor from Wayne State University. Among his
professional affiliations, he is a member of the Healthcare Financial
Management Association, and the Health Law Sections of the American
Bar Association and Michigan Bar Association.
