present its annual Income Tax Institute, "Beyond the Basics:
Effective Income Tax Planning After the 2001 Tax Act." The
program will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct.
3, 2001, at Burton Manor, 27777 Schoolcraft Rd. in Livonia. Participants
can earn eight Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits
for Taxation. Dale Vettel,
administrator of Technical Services for the Michigan Department
of Treasury, will be a guest speaker and provide the Treasury’s
perspective on tax issues. Speakers
from the firm include Thomas H. Bergh, Brian C. Bernhardt, Jeremy
D. Bisdorf, Lynn M. Brimer, Sean H. Cook, W. Patrick Dreisig,
Robert E. Forrest, Michael S. Khoury, Paul, L.B. McKenney, Eric
M. Nemeth, R. Peter Prokop, Wayne D. Roberts, and Robert H. Schwartz. Topics will
include individual taxation, state and local tax updates, educational
incentives and tax benefits, tax issues in entity shifts, tax
accounting and courts in addition to current developments in enforcement,
bankruptcy, collection, appraisals and criminal investigations.
The individual cost to attend is $120 if registration is received by Sept. 17, and $130 for late registration. A continental breakfast and lunch are included.
