Credit Union Presents Checks to Schools
Plymouth, MI -- (Oct. 2, 2001) Community Federal
Credit Union recently presented checks totaling $2,100 to school
programs in Atlanta, Hillman and Lewiston.
The donations resulted from the Credit Unions
second annual Community Shares program to benefit educational
programs in Michigan. The 2001 campaign, which ran from March
through May, pledged money raised from new deposit growth to educational
programs in communities the credit union serves.
Recipients included $700 to Atlanta Schools
Mentoring Program, $700 to the PALs Mentoring program in Hillman
and $700 to the Johannesburg-Lewiston Schools.
Community Federal President and CEO Roger Ballard
reported that this years campaign raised the total Community
Shares dollars donated to $10,000. He added, "Helping educational
programs is a great way to contribute to the future and well-being
of the communities we serve."
This year marks Community Federal Credit Unions
50th anniversary
celebration. Community Federal currently has more
than 33,000 members and total assets exceeding $230 million.
