ProClip USA Opens Detroit Area Sales Office
DETROIT, Michigan (Sept. 18, 2002) ProClip USA, the exclusive North American importer and distributor of ProClip vehicle communication accessories, recently opened a sales office in Dearborn, Michigan. ProClip products are manufactured in Karlsborg, Sweden by Brodit AB, a company established in 1983, to provide communication mounting solutions for vehicle interiors. Today, ProClip products are custom fit for virtually every vehicle model and communication device available—including cell phones, handheld PCs, PDAs, navigation systems, TV monitors and others. Currently, more than 1,500 custom-made ProClip vehicle communication accessories are distributed in more than 30 countries worldwide. The mounts are formed from quality ABS plastic—rather than being mass produced through injection molding. Bjorn Spilling, president of ProClip USA which is headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, says, "Opening a Detroit area office is important for our ability to better service and sell to the major U.S. auto manufacturers. Thanks to Brodit’s ability to provide solutions for difficult applications, our products have already received wide acceptance by other automotive manufacturers including Volvo, Citroen and Renault." The ProClip product line was first developed by Brodit’s President and CEO Ebbe Johansson in the early 1980s. He designed and introduced mounting solutions for cell phones, meters and two-way radios in Swedish taxis without damaging the vehicles’ dashboards.
