Robert H. Schwartz Appointed to Co-Chair Michigan Bar Associations

(Aug. 20, 2001) Robert H. Schwartz, managing principal and CEO of
the Southfield law firm Raymond & Prokop, P.C., was recently appointed
to co-chair the technology subcommittee of the Michigan Bar Association.
The technology
subcommittee, which reports to the Substantive Law Committee of the
Health Law Section, will address issues regarding the Health Insurance
Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), electronic medical records,
telemedicine and other trends in technology.
Mr. Schwartz
heads Raymond & Prokops health care activities. He has
extensive experience in assisting health care and hospital clients
in health care regulatory areas including reimbursement, fraud and
abuse and hospital physician relations.
In addition
to his affiliation with the Michigan Bar Association, he is a member
of the Business Law and Health Law Sections of the American Bar
Association, the American Health Lawyers Association. He co-chairs
the law committee for the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Mr. Schwartz
is a frequent lecturer on various topics relating to health care
and is a contributing author to the Institute of Continuing Legal
Education (ICLE).
He currently
serves as president of the Jewish National Fund for the Detroit
region.
Mr. Schwartz
earned both his Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor from Wayne State
University.
He is a
resident of West Bloomfield.
